Why Garden Society

Where Friendships Grow

Garden Society was intentionally designed around something modern childhood often lacks: time.

Children don't build meaningful friendships in a single afternoon. Developmental psychology consistently shows that children form stronger social connections when they experience repeated interactions with familiar peers in familiar environments. Predictable routines and shared experiences help children feel secure enough to explore, cooperate, solve problems, and develop lasting relationships.

At Garden Society, we believe the environment is the teacher. Instead of rushing children through structured activities, we provide thoughtfully designed spaces that invite curiosity, imagination, conversation, and collaboration. Families move at their own pace while returning each week to the same gardens, the same gathering places, and the same community.

Research has also found that unstructured outdoor play supports executive function, creativity, emotional regulation, resilience, and cooperative problem-solving. Gardening adds another layer by encouraging patience, responsibility, observation, and a sense of stewardship as children care for living things over time.

This is why Garden Society is organized as four-week Garden Clubs.

Not because learning requires a schedule.
But because friendship requires consistency.

When children recognize familiar faces, return to their own garden beds, revisit unfinished projects, and share the rhythms of the seasons together, something deeper begins to grow.

LITTLE GARDEN CLUB

A gentle morning of gardens, stories, clay, and flowers — with the same little faces to look for each week.

What to Expect

Little Garden Club is an open, unhurried garden morning built for our youngest members and the grown-ups who bring them. Arrive anytime within the window and stay as long as you'd like — there's no lesson plan to keep pace with, just a soft, familiar rhythm that repeats week after week.

Children move freely between the potting table, the story corner, and the flower beds, while parents settle into the same seats beside the same familiar faces. That repetition is the point — friendships between toddlers (and their grown-ups) take root slowly, the same way a garden does.

Weekend Garden Club is a relaxed morning built for the whole family — no drop-off, no schedule to keep, just an open garden and a standing pot of coffee. Parents and children wander, play, and connect together at their own pace, alongside the same families each week.

Older siblings, younger ones, grandparents along for the visit — everyone is welcome under one membership. It's the kind of morning that becomes a family's regular rhythm rather than a one-off outing.

What to Expect

Garden Studies Club is a weekly outdoor gathering built for homeschool and flexible-learning families who want to become part of a community rooted in nature, creativity, and slow childhood — not just check a box on a curriculum.

Children return to the same garden beds each week: planting, tending, and eventually harvesting what they started weeks before. Quiet study corners and outdoor reading areas are woven throughout the property, making the afternoon just as workable for tutoring sessions and homework time as it is for nature journaling and unstructured play.

Meet the Founder

HI, I'M LEXI.

CEO · Event Designer · Flower Farmer · Butterfly Enthusiast

Garden Society was born out of a deep-rooted love for the soil, the slow rituals of growing things, and a quiet belief that community is best built outside — in dappled afternoon light, around long tables, with dirt under our fingernails.

After years of designing events and coaxing wild gardens into being, I wanted to create one beautiful, restful place where families could exhale, and where the next generation could meet friends the old-fashioned way: by showing up, again and again, in the same place.

At home it's me, my husband, our six-year-old boy, and two very good dogs — plus what I can only describe as a ton of butterflies. The garden is, in many ways, just an extension of our little family — and now, we hope, of yours too.

This is that place. Welcome.
